A deal that looks and sounds too good to be true usually is. Or, there is no free lunch. If OFGEM spends 22 billion to upgrade the grid and says that rates won’t rise they either get all the money from government coffers which means that the people still pay the bill plus a whole lot of corruption that comes with it or they simply lie boldly into our faces. Judging from what we have seen over the last couple of years, I would not be surprised if it’s the latter. But in the meantime, the green extremists get to tell us that their follies don’t cost a thing. Another lie, a persistent one.
