Argentina’s Vaca Muerta to grow with LNG exports to Asia
Argentina is on the wrong side of South America for exports to Asia. You need to either go around Cape Horn or through the Panama channel which adds significantly to transport costs. I ask myself why Argentina does not aim to become a South American fuels champion. Many countries need gas there – and they could also produce LNG to replace expensive diesel fuels with LNG. That would save money and transport costs. But this requires active market development – meeting Asian executives in posh hotels is nicer.
