A breakthrough approaches for solar power

As if this was the real problem of solar. Efficiency gains are nice but the best gains are no help when the sun does not shine. Thats what kills the economics. The fact that there needs to be ample energy storage and that’s very expensive. There is no running away from the real issues.

Scientists are working on better solar cells that will turn more of the sun's rays into electricity.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
