Across the globe, millions join biggest climate protest ever
China did not allow protests. The biggest emitter of CO2 does not want that spectacle to unfold in their place. Let’s see some statements by Western media – very, very muted. They prefer covering events where authorities and the people they represent can be cowed into submission by spoilt kids with smartphones. Imagine Trump would have taken such a stance. Imagine Trump does not authorize protests on the grounds of public safety for example. The mouth-foaming media would shred him to tiny bits for weeks on end and there would be stories of crying teenagers banging their heads against the tarmac (with a cushion in between of course).
