AGDC: market interest in Alaska LNG continues to rise

I’m a big fan of LNG, but that doesn’t mean every LNG project is good. In fact, over the past 15 years, I’ve struggled to find more than a handful that I genuinely liked. Most are far too expensive, burdened by costly feedgas and transport links that drive up costs dramatically. On top of that, there’s an overreliance on the spot market. Alaska LNG is a perfect example. The concept has been around for much longer than 15 years, yet it has repeatedly failed to get off the ground. The problem isn’t the market—it’s the project itself. It just doesn’t work.
