Albania Signs Deal with US Companies to Develop LNG Import Terminal
The Balkans are a prime target for LNG development for many reasons. One is that pipeline alternatives are either not great or often entirely absent. Many spots on the coastline are actually gas islands. They are not included in any gas infrastructure at all. Perfect for establishing a bulk brak terminal at some point in the southern part and then redistribute smaller cargos and trucks to other parts of the peninsula. Albania has the added advantage of being close to Italy. All this will be hard to do with a floater though.
