A quick look at a map showing just-in-time marine traffic immediately points out that worldwide shipping depends on a couple of passages through which most ships must go to do their trade. The Suez channel is one of the most important of them. It’s also a massive source of income for Egypt which is economically on wobbly feet. If I were Egypt, I would start thinking hard about what can be done to take care of the Houthi threat. Egypt has one of the largest land armies and its military is also not as squeamish as western militaries. They might be interested in sending a couple of brigades down to Yemen to take care of the situation once and for all.
