An LNG facility could make Israel a global gas player – opinion

Israel is still importing almost 100% of its crude oil. Most of it comes from the Ceyhan terminal in Turkey. But a country that is in such a dangerous neighborhood as Israel should put an onus on national security. And importing almost all of such a vital resource as oil makes the country naturally vulnerable. Israel could use excess Natural Gas and gasify its vehicles thus reducing its oil import, strengthening security, improving air quality, and saving a buck. Not to forget all the jobs that would come with such a shift. They can export it – sure. They can also do much, much better than this.
