Aramco Chief Sees Perception Crisis for Oil Industry
Amin Nasser has a point. The fossil fuels industry leaves the narrative on the energy story and the role of energy in the world to the renewable and Electric Vehicle folks. I have told representatives from the Natural gas industry for years that I don’t see them. I don’t feel them. They are only meeting during those conferences where I see all the same complaints reemerging but nobody is willing to lift a finger. Talk only. Which is why we have created LNG Austria. We would love to do that for the world but our means are enough for one small country only. Will the oil and gas industry ever live up to its needs or will they continue ducking the hard issues. The other side does not shy back from the hardest issues – neither should we.
The oil industry faces a “crisis of perception” and there’s a growing risk the financial community will turn against fossil fuels, the chief executive officer of Saudi Aramco said as the world’s largest oil producer prepares for its first foray into capital markets.
