Are our oil and gas pipelines safe during an earthquake?

As with everything in life – things can be made safe if one invests the necessary money in it. The question is not if it’s safe. The real question is if it’s safe enough. There is no such thing as total safety in life even if you live in a cabin in the woods. Properly built and maintained pipelines are very safe. If the area you build in is very earthquake-prone you may want to consider LNG. And if earthquakes are so bad that this does not work you may consider moving somewhere else.
