As Asia LNG price retreats, China storage looms as key issue
Yes, a lot more underground gas storage would do wonders and take the volatility out of the crucial Asian market. LNG offtake would be a lot more predictable but those price spikes are the domain of some traders that make good money from them. That said, they need not fear. Far East Asia’s geography is not very conducive to a lot of underground storage so we won’t see a huge lot to be built. The Asian vanilla market won’t go away any time soon.
