How many years have we been told that oil will cross into post-USD 100 territory soon and stay there? It just does not materialize but in the meantime, we have seen some of the lowest oil prices in human history materialize. For a short time of course but when it did, the world was in disbelief. But just imagine that even a massive war in Ukraine and another in Israel cannot push oil past USD 100. If we factor in inflation then oil is lower still. There is a global economic crisis beckoning and when this one unfolds its full effect on the world, thirst for oil won’t be its biggest issue. Feeding people will be.
