Asia increasingly looks to flexible LNG supply

In long-term LNG, there are only two options for flexibility. Either you create it and take care of it internally or you can’t or don’t want to and then you look for an external solution. In both cases, you will pay, and considering the Far East’s geography, this is going to be a steep price. If you build storage, you will have to invest and operate but you have bought yourself some freedom from others. If you want a flexible contract the seller won’t give in on price ever. You will have to pay above market for a very long time to get the gas. And you remain dependent. Take your pick.
