Biden’s Not-So-Clean Energy Transition
About 200 years ago, during the early 19th century, the world had reached peak deforestation. Wood was used for construction, heating, and for manufacturing almost anything. Entire regions that were once thick and lush forests had been wiped clean of anything that’s bigger than a small bush. Just look at the Karst’s in the Western Balkans or China as only a few examples. Coal and steel saved the forests. Do we go back to destroying landscapes now?
