Bill Gates on What a Plan to Fight Climate Change Means

I was born as the first of seven into a family that was maybe on the lower end of the averages. I remember that while many other school kids in my time could afford fashionable clothing and skiing vacations, all this was simply not possible with us. My own offspring can afford those luxuries and a lot more with ease. My parents could not. My father (still alive) was born before WW2 started into conditions that could be compared to many developing countries today. And that was before the war – things got a lot worse right after this birth. My father’s father was born in the Empire. No need to explain what conditions were at that time. Not all of us were born into privilege Bill. However, anyone living in any country has a right to work towards getting to where we are if they wish so. They may become just as wealthy and more if they put their minds to it. We have no right to ask them to remain dirt poor just because of our misguided green mayhem.
