BP’s new CEO plans for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050

Another virtue-signaling CEO that dumps on the very thing that ensures his very posh lifestyle. It gets old. You are an oil CEO – if you really believe this carbon crap, get out of the oil business. Or maybe you want to steer BP into the abyss and need to be on the inside in order to do so. I just don’t think so. I think you say what the activists expect you to say, do what you need to do to keep shareholders happy and cash in on fat oil bonuses. And you will leave the mess you sustain with your signaling to your successor. That’s how it goes.

London-based BP became the latest fossil fuel giant to set out an ambitious, yet rather distant, target for curbing emissions of planet-warming gases.
