California Regulators Propose Gov’t Takeover Of Oil Refineries To Stave Off Energy Crisis

Question. What is it that the government has taken over and that has run better than before? Exactly – nothing at all. Governments can make things run well enough for a price. A steep price. Plus the death of all innovation. But California might have no choice as commercial operators disengage from the Sunshine State. They simply can’t take the strain and the uncertainty anymore. Besides, constantly being labeled the bad guy while providing essential services is no fun either. The only thing saving California right now is that it is in a bigger unit called the United States. The other states drag it along as best they can. Cut it loose and watch it sink very fast.
