California’s Duck Curve Hits Record Lows

In an honest and transparent world, we would have been told that wind & solar energy will need backup and backup is not going to be free. Conventional energy is “on demand”. It’s being produced when it’s needed. The source is already its own storage of energy. Not so with wind & solar. So those costs are on them alone. But we are told that grid expansion and upgrading shall be paid for by everyone. On top, they have used up the overcapacity that has historically been there to deal with crises – any crisis. Our crisis backup is gone now – swallowed by wind & solar with not even a thank you. It’s a never-ending money drain.
