January 1st, 2024 – I like it. This is just now – in a few days. We need extreme examples and yes we also need extreme failures. Israel needed October 7th to wake up to what has festered in their midst for decades. I don’t know anybody in Israel who is unsure of what needs to be done to deal with the threat now. No matter the price. California will have to suffer mightily to make its population fix what needs fixing. But that might need a lot more time as states and countries can often take their time. Venezuela has missed its moment of redemption. Maybe California does as well.
