Carbon Tracker Fantasy: “Cleanup of abandoned oil and gas wells could cost Texans $117 billion”
This reminds me of the moronic IMF report that claims trillions of USD in O&G subsidies pulling in imagined externalities and unrealized taxation they feel like it should be applied. I wrote a piece about it and compared the imagined numbers with the positive externalities of O&G which far exceed anything those fantasy numbers could ever be. The same goes for the liabilities from abandoned wells. The money comes from the industry and the sums are far lower than anything purported. But who is on the hook for decommissioning wind farms and solar arrays?
