Cattle Methane is a moooot point in global climate
Nature produces methane in gargantuan volumes. We do not yet understand the likely true amount of methane released to the environment because most of the world’s surface very rarely ever see a human. Much of the world’s oceans never see ship traffic and when massive methane clathrate releases occur, we won’t even know. But still, methane is counted in parts per billion in the air we breathe. With all this methane release there should be much more. But there is not – because the atmosphere has a powerful mechanism to break up methane very quickly so it never gets even close to anything remarkable. Passing wind in my apartment will certainly change the climate here in a second. But the world s climate does not even care about any methane any living thing produces.
