Charles Moore: The political class is only just realising that voters prefer prosperity over climate jingoism

In 1978, a little revolution in international relations happened. Egypt made peace with Israel. Two hardliners, Begin on the Israeli side and Sadat on the Egyptian one decided that war is not more between them. Only two hardliners could have done this. They could sell it to their people. The same will happen when green policies and climate idiocy land on the trash heap of failed ideas. It will take green and red parties to make that happen and they will. It always took socialists to enact the hardest labor reforms and conservatives to cut militaries back. Labor might be the one to scupper green policies in Britain. In the end, I don’t care who does it as long as it gets done.
