China Enters Global Tech Race For Small Modular Nuclear Reactors
SMR’s are a great idea and I have a feeling they will be an important part of any future energy grid. One question though – once I have one of those things up and running, what would I need windmills and solar panels for again? They are just additional cost plus an eyesore without adding any value at all. And this great wonder box already produces all the energy I want for no emissions at all.
Nearly two years ago China’s “Nimble Dragon” (玲龙) project hit headlines when state-owned China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) announced plans to build a floating small modular reactor (SMR) in the island province of Hainan.
