China ‘hits renewable targets’ 12 years early, study claims
Looks like China has invented carbon-free coal. Why do I say this? Well, China imports more coal than ever but their carbon data gets better. As – of course – anything China says is the full and undisputed truth, they must have found a way to burn all this coal without producing CO2. Or otherwise, we must assume that this whole thing is one giant deception. But we don’t want to go there – won’t we?
China may have already hit the emissions goal it set for itself when it signed up to the Paris climate change agreement, a study suggests. At the 2014 summit, China – the world’s biggest source of carbon emissions – pledged its CO2 emissions would have peaked by 2030. But according to one study, the commitment may have been fulfilled even as it was being made.
