China makes no shift away from coal in five-year plan as it ‘crawls’ to carbon neutrality
China is very good at making promises. And it also knows that promises are all thats needed to keep Western politicians sweet. No intention to keep any of them required. This has worked to a charm – to a point as nations that go for such policies eventually always overdo it. They need to show their own population that the West can be led around at a nosering and they need to blind the rest of the world with ever more glitz. Multiple nations have developed China fatigue and there are some former China-philes in this group. There is no free lunch.
