China recolonizes Africa
Chinas colonization efforts are not even very concealed by now, and they count on the collaboration of local elites (not only in Africa) to get their ways. BUT – this all is also very expensive and shows marks on China by now. Many countries had grandiose ambitions just to find themselves in a position where they lost lots of money with their blown up possessions. This is also a reason why the US is not a colonial power and does not go for territorial expansion. If it’s done against the wishes of the local population it’s expensive, and nobody has an appetite for it. China will pay a big price, and the people in China will start asking why spending all this money on faraway paces is supposed to be a good thing when it hurts at home.
