China says EU’s planned carbon border tax violates trade principles
In Austria, we say that one should not throw stones when ones sits in a glasshouse. China has made a mockery of the international trade system for decades. I don’t blame them. I blame us – the rest of the world as we allowed them to. But now complaining about others’ weird behavior is chutzpa. That being said, I support Border Adjustment Taxes in principle. I would just prefer if those would be charged for a countries environmental and human rights record. Not for CO2.
