China to overtake Japan as world’s top LNG buyer in weeks, ICIS says
Thats a big deal. As long as I can think in terms of energy, Japan has always been the big cheese. The island chain cannot economically be supplied with pipeline gas and it’s also hard to move gas around. China has no such limitations but they need all forms of energy available. The bigger question is – what will happen when China goes into a recession? This looks ridiculous right now but it’s always good to contemplate the if’s – ain’t it?
