China’s new problem: climate misinformation driven by nationalism

It’s hard to believe that people don’t see what’s going on here. China’s leadership (Xi actually) has understood that nothing will save China from the economic malaise that it has created through its own hubris. The formula “shut up and make money” does not work anymore as the money-making machine is broken so there will be unrest. China needs something or someone to blame for this and they will grab anything that can be used for this. Climate Change is just one such narrative so they can say “it’s not us, it’s climate change”. But we don’t see we do not want to see. Right?

Climate conspiracies once suited Beijing’s narrative. Not any more. Now, China is both a culprit and a target.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
