Climate activists vow to take to streets to stop fossil fuel extraction

650K people signed up – compared to 8 billion that did not. That is less than 0,01% of the planet’s population that is supposed to drive policy. We are being blackmailed by a supertiny fraction of the population. We cannot assume that all the rest of the planet would be dead against ending conventional energy but assuming that a group that could not be more fringy represents the will of the people is beyond madness. My own home country Austria is very small – only about 9 million people but I am quite confident that here alone we would find more opponents of green zealotry than worldwide signatories of this letter. When activists sabotage normal life they must suffer stiff consequences. And their backers too.
