For the longest part of my life, I asked myself how voters can be so incredibly dumb as to bring back those obviously lying politicians back to power every time. I did not yet understand what drives the regular idiot and how large majorities wax and wane. I believed that most people will make rational decisions in almost everything in life. When, in fact, that is rarely true. Looking at the awful decisions most people make in their lives should have shown earlier that this does not work. It never works. Humans are creatures of cheap emotion. Every single one of us can change that and rise above the fray, but it’s hard to stay in the real world when lies are so much easier to go with.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
