Commission pushes EU’s 2040 climate law into spring

2040 you say. Let me guess – all senior decision-makers on the political and corporate side will be in comfortable retirement by then so they kicked the can down the road, and may pretend to do something while not having to deal with the consequences. They are looking at all kinds of elections in Europe where climate sceptical parties make huge inroads and that won’t stop easily. But 2040 is comfortably far away. I will make another prediction. This will never come. Not in 2040, not in 2050, and not in 2100. Our economies are on the ropes and we already have to print a mountain of money to rebuild our militaries. Climate grift is getting a whole lot harder folks.

The 2040 target “will be presented soon,” said European Commission spokesperson.
