Bartertown in Mad Max ran on swine manure derived methane. It’s not the best raw material for producing biomethane and usually is mixed up with lots of other stuff. Plus I guarantee that you will not want to be anywhere near where it happens. But once the resulting methane has been refined to pipeline standards, it’s a premium product and should not be used for power generation at all. This is a perfect vehicle fuel. Just imagine Elons Starship fuelled on pigshit. It could do it and would not feel the difference. And be carbon neutral for those who care about such a thing.

Companies’ rush to affiliate with the reduction of greenhouse gases is making a big business out of harnessing the methane seeping from heaps of organic waste.
