Investment theory says that once someone is down a certain path, it’s hard to stop and change onto another track when you find out that you are heading for disaster. Most people actually prefer to go to hell rather than admit that they are wrong. For private people, thats bad enough, but powerful politicians tend to take their entire countries down with them. Better having a mechanism to stop them cold when it becomes bad enough.

With Obama, at least he appeared to have some understanding that the whole idea of his policies of fossil fuel suppression was to force consumption down through the mechanism of rising prices. But …

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
