Death For Millions In 1921’s Record Heat Wave

My mother’s parents were Greece fans. They always went there by car and that was long before the fall of the Iron Curtain so they had to cross the entirety of Yugoslavia from North to South. I remember one summer, he I was still a child, grandma told us about a summer when my grandfather did not want to continue to Greece as the heat cooked them. That was before aircon and people then were not as soft and coddled as we are today. And still, they could not bear it. Great heat is nothing new.
