Denmark’s largest battery – one step closer to storing green power in stones

Cheap? We had those claims many times before and many times they turned out to be not only unfounded but radically wrong. Like the cheapest energy sources that wind and solar are supposed to be and still they need mountains of subsidies as otherwise they would pack up instantly. So, build a pilot, run it without subsidies while using unsubsidized wind and solar energy and I am in. Otherwise, this is one more rent seeker.

The technology, which stores electrical energy as heat in stones, is called GridScale, and could become a cheap and efficient alternative to storing power from solar and wind in lithium-based batte…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
