Developing Asia to Drive LNG Demand for Decades: Woodside

Woodside has the Asian market at its doorstep so seeing this market as the growth engine is self-serving. Let’s look beyond the bluster. China is already an economic basket case. It’s hard to believe that there is any real growth left in the red giant and I think I am not going out on a limb when I say there is some serious shrinkage in the offing. India looks a lot more promising but China might shrink faster than India grows. Also, reduced economic prospects will make nations look for the cheapest fuel, not the cleanest. Coal has a future – gas too but I would not bet the firm on Asian demand.
