Do CMIP5 models skillfully match actual warming?

India just became the 4th nation to land a probe on the Moon. It released a rover that started examining the southern regions of our old friend in the sky and just a few days into the probing, they made a discovery that totally upset conventional thinking. They found that just a few cm under the surface of the lunar regolith it was far cooler than all the models had predicted. We had samples of lunar soil for more than 50 years to play with, it’s the closest of all heavenly bodies and we have a massive body of evidence on temperature development in soil and still, we got it all wrong. Wrong models are legion. Making decisions based on models alone is borderline insane.
