Driver Shortage Stresses Fuel Supply Chain
The biggest cost factor in the truck-based supply chain is the driver. I imagine that there is some effort underway to replace them with autonomous vehicles. Sure, the thought that a truck trailer filled with 40 m2 of gasoline rumbles over our highways with no one in the cockpit is scary. But let’s look at the facts – the overwhelming majority of fatal accidents with trucks happen because of human error. Still, fears are irrational as we know all too well now.
