Driving a Stake Through Stakeholder Capitalism

Stakeholder Capitalism should receive a new moniker as the current one is misleading at best. It confers the idea that entrepreneurs are sitting at the helm of today’s large corporations and that this group of enlightened, profit-seeking individuals is moderated by the addition of those with more noble aims. Nothing could be further from the truth. Big corporations today are run by professional management which is about as un-entrepreneurial as one can be. Those folks are shielded from the consequence of anything and they direct things from a place of total un-accountability. Very much like communist committees which is why I would like to extract public corporations from the domain of commercial companies and put them into a new domain – that of political corporations. We need new legal concepts for those beasts.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
