Dubai builds first coal power plant despite pledging lowest carbon footprint in the world by 2050
Dubai needs a lot of baseload power and they have plenty of space to heap the coal up to be sure that they will always have the fuel available when they need it. Thats one of the main attractions of coal – its energy-dense fuel that can be stored very easily. No complex technology required.
