Ending Dependence on Russia’s Nuclear Sector

I am much less concerned with the money Russia makes with the sale of nuclear technology and commodities. What really irks me is that the West has abandoned a critical industrial sector wholesale because they don’t want to deal with the negative press they think they would get from it. Politicians should have engaged populations long ago with the real backstory and the consequences of leaving critical stuff to nations that are neither friendly nor trustworthy. But they did not. They preferred to sit this one out and hope nothing will ever happen. But it did and there will be more. We need to clean up more than 30 years of our own failings. That’s going to hurt.
