Energy majors bid for Qatar LNG project despite lower returns
When I worked for a big Oil & Gas company we had a couple of cornerstones by which we oriented ourselves in LNG supply. One was that if you contract with Qatar, you will pay very dearly. They will extract the white of your eye and try to get more. BUT – you are sure that you will get your cargo, come hell and high water. If security of supply is your biggest issue, you can do worse than contract with Qatar. Qatar does not promise monster profits – but it keeps its promises.
