Ahh, pinning the blame on others. So far, the energy industry establishment has sung the praise songs of renewable energy (aka Wind and Solar power). They were part of the club that helped camouflage the exorbitant cost of systemic change required to make wind and solar work for 10% or a bit more. When everyone lies about everything, it becomes the truth. Aint it? That goes on as long as there is plenty of money coming from a citizenry that is blinded and dazzled by all sorts of narratives. But now, one narrative comes to dominate all others. The narrative is that we can’t afford life anymore. It’s called reality. And it’s a potent undazzler. Energy CEOs take notice.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
