EU mulls military training mission to steady Mozambique

Military intervention won’t pacify northern Mozambique – at least not if being bogged down in an endless quagmire is not called a success. Most people are not aware of how big Mozambique really is. The distance between the people in the capital Maputo is about the same as the distance from the cliffs of Dover to the Black seashores. Northern Mozambiquians are more Swahili and the leaders in Maputo are Portuguese elites. They are about as different as Brits and Russians are. We don’t need more violence. We need much less.
