Europe Could Look To Africa If Ukraine Conflict Threatens Gas Flow
Europe has looked to Africa for a long time when it comes to energy but it has never matched its words with a consistent effort. Because as long as Russian oil and gas come in, why make a ruckus. It’s so much easier to project virtue to the rest of the world by banqueting African political leaders instead of trying to get into the thick of it. To be fair, there are a couple of energy companies that have pretty solid African legs to stand on, but they are rare and not the kind of companies it needs for real progress on this front. If Europe wants African energy it will need to spend money and time – Russias gas did not materialize overnight as well.
