Europe LNG Market Gets Less Localized

Sorry, just not going to happen. With the exception of Spain and Portugal, no country in Europe really depends on LNG for their gas supply. Interconnection, pipeline supplies, and deep gas storage keep Europe safe even if there is not a drop of LNG coming its way. Still, it trades and why wouldn’t it? It can as it has something to offer Asia cannot possibly match – flexibility. In gas, Asia needs Europe – Europe is just fine without LNG.

Despite numerous pipeline-supply options, Europe is becoming more import-dependent.
