Europe: open legislative framework needed to decarbonize mobility
The current tailpipe emissions philosophy is a fraud on the spirit of environmental protection. It punishes renewable fuels that are really carbon neutral such as biomethane and it leaves the giant amounts of emissions caused by the production of batteries out of the equation. We get the emissions – and pay a high price for it. The worst of worlds really.
Europe needs an open legislative framework that can assess on fair terms all solutions contributing to the decarbonization of the transport sector and achieving air quality goals.
