Exxon exploration chief eyes Africa for next elephant oil find
The next elephant might even be onshore in Africa. Large swathes of the continent are extremely underexplored because of the security risks. Supermajors like to stay offshore as this provides better protection from the insecurity onshore. But this requires more than posh boardroom meetings with African leaders. This will be messy, boots on the ground, dealing with lots of stuff that usually goes without saying. This is Africa – TIA.
