Fairytales of Economic Growth
The Marxist ramblings of a UN director are of course stuff a stand-up-comedian must be thankful for. But while we laugh at her – and deservedly so – it does us good to look at our own economic figures. Because much of what we think is true about our economies, our collectivities and our companies is not true anymore by a long shot. Decades of creative accounting and multiple global GDP’s worth of Quantitative Easing have distorted our economic foundation. Growth is a good thing but how do we know if we grow for real?
